Our Story
INNOVATION AND QUALITY
Semester L&D was established in October 2014 to meet a growing need for flexible, high‑quality learning within an apprenticeship programme. What began as a small initiative quickly developed into a broader training offer. The courses originally created for apprentices were soon made available as stand‑alone qualifications.
Our early focus was Telecoms, which naturally expanded into IT due to shared units and progression routes. Engineering followed for the same reason, and from there our portfolio grew to include HNC Engineering and Fire Safety.
From the beginning, Semester has operated fully online. All tutors and assessors work remotely and bring genuine industry experience from around the world — many are still active in their fields, ensuring our learners benefit from current, real‑world expertise rather than purely academic backgrounds.
In October 2024, Semester was acquired by RMI Standards and Certification (RMISC), marking the start of a new phase of investment, improvement, and strategic growth.
