Electrical or Electronic Technical Support Engineer (Degree) Apprenticeship
As a training provider, Semester LD is now able to offer apprenticeships. The Technical Support Engineer is found in large and small engineering and manufacturing organisations providing products and services throughout a wide range of sectors, such as Automotive, Aerospace/Airworthiness, Chemical Processing, Land Systems, Marine, Maritime Defence, Materials Manufacturers and their respective supply chains. Research indicates that the sector needs to recruit approximately 124,000 engineers and technicians every year.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has already completed the Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship

Block Diagram - Degree Apprenticeship
For the Development Phase the apprentice will build on their foundation knowledge by completing a BSc (Hons) or BEng (Hons) in Engineering.
To meet this requirement we have a few routes that can be followed:
- HNC + Top up Degree (4 years of University study)
- HND + Top up (2 years of University study)
There are two routes for the top up Degree:
- B.Sc (Hons) STEM
- B.Eng (Hons) Electronics
Foundations Stage Years 1-2
- Knowledge – HNC Engineering (8 units over 2 years. Mandatory 5 units plus 3 choices)
- Competence – NVQ Suitable for current role, either level 3 or 4:
Development Stage
Years 3-4
- Knowledge – HND Engineering (8 Units over 2 years)
Years 5-6
- Knowledge – Level 6 Units (120 Credits) from well known University towards B.Eng (Hons) or B.Sc (Hons) STEM
Learning will be delivered remotely via Moodle, our Learning Management System (LMS). All progress will be recorded on OneFile, the e-portfolio we have used since 2014. As an employer, you will also get an account so that you can monitor the progress of your apprentice.
